How to clean opal ice maker with side tank. Firstbuild has now put out a side tank to go with the opal nugget ice maker. When you're facing the back of the machine, it's the hose on the right. The setup was simple and we had it working within a couple of minutes.
Opal side tank not included. After that, you need to unhook the drain hose from the ice maker. The drain hose connects to the side tank via a spout in the back.
With the stopper removed from the drain hose, insert the end into the spout on the tank. After draining the vinegar, run three rinse cycles using fresh water for each rinse. Recommended at least every 6 months.

To clean the side tank: It can produce up to 24 lbs. If there is residual water in the side tank base unit, flip the side tank's base to drain.

Clean the sensors with vinegar and wipe clean with water. Now, leave it as it is for at least 1 hour. Remove and drain the side tank.
We found that this tank worked seamlessly with the opal nugget ice maker. If you are using the filter, remove it and reinstall the reservoir.
